How to back up your iphone to icloud, mac or windows.
If you have an iphone, you may need to back up your Iphone to icloud, Mac or windows.You are supposed to have a backup of all the information on your phone so that when it gets lost you can’t lose all the information that you consider as important. You are given an opportunity to back up your information on your iCloud, Mac, or windows to make sure the information is intact in the event the phone gets lost.
Backing up on iCloud.
The process of backing up your iPhone information to iCloud is simple and clear. It’s Apple’s first choice of backing up your information.
1.You connect your iPhone to wifi.
2.On the iCloud page, you go to settings. You tap on your name, then tap on the iCloud. While on that page, you scroll down and tap on the iCloud backup. You should just make sure the switch is toggled on to enable you to automatically back up when the phone is charging, locked, and connected to wifi. You can then tap back up to enable the process to begin.
3. You can now make counter-checks to verify things such as photos that you would wish to back up on iCloud.
It should be noted that Apple gives you 5GB of iCloud storage for free. This might not be enough to cover all the data that you wish to store but there is an option of buying more storage if you are a heavy user. That will enable you to store more information if you happen to have it.
Backing up iPhone on your Mac.
If your iPhone is loaded with pictures, songs, apps, and many text messages, an iCloud backup may not be sufficient. You can opt for a Mac to store your stuff. You just click on a few to make sure your phone’s data is tucked away safely and soundly. But this method depends on the version of the Mac OS that you are using.
If you are not sure of the method of the operating system your Apple is operating on, you click the top left corner of your Mac desktop and select ‘about this Mac’.After that, another app will come up that tells you in bold letters what event you are running.
Backing up to Mac OS Catalina 10.15, or later versions.
This type of upgrade did away with iTunes. It replaced it with three separate apps for music, podcasts, and TV. The backup add is now located in ‘finder’. When you are in that section, you can select folders and other drives. The steps involved in this backup are just the same as that of iTunes.
1.You connect your iPhone to your computer with a cable. You then open ‘finder’ and select iPhone in the sidebar.
2.You then click on ‘general’ and choose ‘backup of all the data on your phone to this Mac’.
3.If you want to encrypt your data and password you are given the option to select ‘encrypt local backup’ .That way your data is protected and can’t be accessed by people you don’t want to access it.
3.You then click back up now. After that, your data is backed up.

Backing up the iPhone on Mac Mojare 10.14 or earlier versions.
The system of iTunes is still active and available on older OS versions of Mac. You can still back up your documents there using this procedure:
1.You plug your phone into your Mac. You then open iTunes and click the device buttons at the top left of the iTunes window.
2.You can now click ‘summary’ below your iPhone. You then move to backups and select ‘backup now
This option creates a backup of all the data on your iPhone. All your app data is also backed up. This means that you don’t have to log into your accounts again. It also helps you to save your home screen arrangement in a way that makes you not drag a bunch of icons around again.
3. If you feel like encrypting your backups, you can click on ‘encrypt iPhone backup’ and then type a password. You then set your password and the information will be safe.
This method can help you set multiple backups so that all the information from months back can be found. All you need to do is go to the iTunes preferences, then click on devices and click summary for your iPhone. You will be able to see a list of all your backups. If you click on restore backups, you will be able to see a list of your past information.
Backing up to a windows PC.
This is how you can back up your iPhone to a Windows PC using iTunes.
1.You connect your iphone to your windows computer. You then open iTunes and click the iPhone button at the left of the iTunes window.
2.You then click ‘summary’.After that, you select ‘backup’ under backups. You can then select ‘encrypt local backup’ and type a password. You then click ‘set password’.
All your data will be backed up on the windows PC.
